Our sources

Dishista is built on trustworthy, publicly available sources. Here is where our recipes, photos, maps and allergen information come from.

Recipes

Every recipe was written by the Dishista team, following the traditional methods of each cuisine and adapted to ingredients you can actually buy. Calorie values per serving are estimates.

Photos

Dish photos come from Wikimedia Commons and are used under free licences (CC BY, CC BY-SA and public domain). The author and licence of every photo are listed in the app and in the photo credits at the bottom of this page.

Allergens and intolerances

Each recipe lists the 14 major allergens defined by the EU plus lactose. The information is based on the recipe's ingredients and is indicative — always read the labels of shop-bought products. Our mini encyclopedia of allergens and intolerances draws on these public sources:

Maps

The world map and globe use data from Natural Earth (public domain).

Icons and fonts

3D icons on this website: Microsoft Fluent Emoji (MIT licence). Fonts: Fraunces and Inter (SIL Open Font License) via Google Fonts.

Prices

Local prices are the equivalents the App Store sets for each country for the US price.

The information in Dishista is general and does not replace the advice of a doctor or allergist.
